Details:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provides scheduled and requested training sessions related to coding compliance to faculty, staff, KMSF and others. Provides coding compliance certification training and testing for KMSF staff and departmental coding staff. Develops customized and specialty specific presentations on coding and compliance topics. Coordinates one-on-one provider educational sessions based upon audit results. Conducts new provider educational sessions on coding and compliance. Conducts new provider audits. Provides training on annual CPT and ICD-9-CM code changes to KMSF and clinical departments. Assists with dissemination of coding compliance information to KMSF and departments; e.g. Medicare Part B Bulletins, local coverage determinations, newsletters, etc. Assists with researching coding compliance questions for the clinical departments and KMSF staff. Works on a daily basis with compliance analysts to assist with coding and documentation audits, coding research, etc.  OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Maintains and updates coding compliance resources including reference manuals, coding books, newsletters, coding class content, web site, etc. Works with KMSF billing managers and reimbursement staff to stay apprised of third party payor requirements that affect billing. Evaluates software programs that will assist KMSF and departments with coding.

This position develops and maintains the clinical competencies of nursing and Health Center staff to ensure proper care and treatment of residents/patients.
